Eco-inspectors calculated 847.2 million hryvnias of damage to the environment due to the shelling of the warehouses of the private enterprise "Business Center VITAHO" in Mykolaiv.
The shelling caused a fire, during which 200.5 tons of oil products and 145.4 tons of car tires burned, the State Environmental Inspection of the South-West District reported on Facebook.
It is noted that the shelling took place at the end of September 2022.
The report said that the debris of warehouse buildings littered 8,000 m2 of land. In addition, the fire caused air pollution.
Eco-inspectors emphasized that the shelling also caused the spill of oil products. The area of the contaminated area reached 500 m2.
"The war in Ukraine is a matter of environmental security and a common future. This is the first international conflict in the last 20 years with such significant damage to the environment," the press service noted.
Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that the eco-inspectors calculated 2.3 million hryvnias in damages from the rocket attack on the AGRO-DILO agricultural company in the Mykolaiv region. A large-scale fire occurred at the enterprise, during which 108.74 tons of saltpeter burned.
