The fire was caused by debris from the rocket

In the Kyiv region, as a result of another Russian missile attack, a fire destroyed 8,000 m2 of forest in the Dymer forest farm.

The fire was localized and extinguished in time thanks to the coordinated actions of forest guards and rescuers, the state enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" reports on Facebook.

"Russian troops are systematically destroying Ukrainian nature. "Of all the natural ecosystems, forests suffer the most because of hostilities," the press service emphasized.

It is noted that the fire was caused by rocket debris that fell in the forest farm.

The message said that the following were used to extinguish the fire:

  • 13 employees of the state forest protection;
  • 2 fire engines;
  • a forest fire module and a tractor with a plow;
  • fire truck of the State Emergency Service;
  • 3 rescuers.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Sumy region, shelling by Russian troops on the outskirts of the village of Stara Huta, Shostky District, destroyed 203 trees in the Desnyansko-Starogutsky National Park, which caused damage to the environment amounting to UAH 6.12 million. Also, the debris of buildings littered more than 67 m2 of protected land.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, 45,000 oak seedlings were planted in Kharkiv Oblast on demined territories of Zolochiv Forestry. The area of the new forest reaches 10.8 hectares.
