The old socket fell and damaged the electrical lines

In Kyiv, in the Bortnychi microdistrict, in the Darnytskyi district, energy workers mounted a special platform for a stork's nest on an electric pole.

This is already the eighth such construction in the city, reports "DTEK Kyivskie Elektromerezhi" on Facebook.

"Our Lelechenka project continues despite the war," the message said.

Energy experts said that the previous nest was destroyed by bad weather. It fell and damaged power lines. As a result, people in the area were left without electricity, and storks were left without a home.

"Of course, first of all we repaired the damaged power line and returned the light to customers. We needed more time to restore the nest, because we had to make a protective platform. As soon as we made it, we immediately installed it on the same support," the message emphasized.

Local residents are convinced that next year in the spring storks will settle here again, and with them peace and tranquility will return to Ukraine.

The Lelechenka project was launched by DTEK Networks in 2021. This is an ecological and educational campaign, which should draw attention to a careful attitude to living nature and preserve the population of storks in Ukraine.

We will remind you that the "DTEK VDE" company built unique "bird islands" in the regional landscape park "Tiligulskyi" in the Mykolayiv region for the nesting of rare aquatic bird species. The area of artificial islands reaches 1500 m2.

As Ecopolitika previously reported, the court returned 1,500 m2 of land worth 6 million hryvnias to Kyiv's Bilichan forest, which is part of the Holosiyivskyi national nature park.
