The fire destroyed 8 thousand m2 of dry land

In the Lviv Region during the day, on April 20, burning grass caused 12 fires of dry grass.

The fire was extinguished by 59 rescuers and 14 units of special equipment, reports the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Lviv region on Facebook.

"Constant trips of rescuers to eliminate dry fires are an unnecessary waste of resources. Be human – have a conscience!", the press service wrote.

It is noted that the fire destroyed 8 thousand m2 of dry land in the Lviv, Sambir, Stryi and Yavoriv districts

"At such a difficult time, in the conditions of martial law, deliberately destroying Ukraine, burning your land with dry grass, is a crime," the rescuers emphasized.

The message reminded that setting fire to dry grass is punishable by law in the form of a fine:

  • for citizens from UAH 3,060 to UAH 6,120;
  • for officials UAH 15,300 to UAH 21,420.

In 2023, the state enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" will create a Center for combating forest fires in the Chernihiv region, where firefighters will undergo systematic, comprehensive and operational training.
