Despite fierce battles, defenders find time for nature

In Bakhmut, soldiers from the 93rd separate mechanized brigade "Kholodny Yar" planted several trees of the so-called victory forest on the outskirts of Bakhmut.

The trees, along with humanitarian aid, were handed over by foresters, the state enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" reports on Facebook.

"We are now on the outskirts of the Bakhmut fortress," said the soldier. The guys and I decided to start planting our "forest of victory."

It is noted that the trees were grown in Rava-Rusky forestry.

"It is infinitely valuable that despite fierce battles, lack of normal sleep and rest, our defenders find time for this! We sincerely believe that in tens of years this mighty forest will delight our descendants," the message emphasized.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Donetsk region, eco-inspectors in the Kramatorsk and Pokrovsky districts calculated about 3 million hryvnias in damages for felling 62 trees. Currently, fires in the region, as a result of hostilities, have destroyed more than 15 thousand hectares of forest.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Kharkiv Oblast, thanks to a successful counteroffensive, the Armed Forces liberated 150,000 hectares of forest in 5 forest farms, namely Kupyanskyi, Chuguyevo-Babachanskyi, Balakliyaskyi, Izyumskyi, and Vovchanskyi.
