Animal rights activists appealed to the law enforcement officers

In Odesa, in the hotel room of the Nemo Hotel Resort & SPA, the blogger took a photo session with two fur seals and published it on the network.

The animals were probably provided by the Nemo Odesa dolphinarium, according to the public organization UAnimals on Facebook.

Animal rights activists said that the blogger's post caused a wave of outrage over the abuse of animals.

"We consider this situation unacceptable, so we immediately filed a report with the police under part 12 of Article 25 of the Law of Ukraine, which prohibits providing photo services with wild animals outside zoos, circuses and dolphinariums," they said.

The authors emphasized that the video and photo were taken in the hotel room, and not in the dolphinarium. It is likely that wildlife photography services are provided to hotel residents, which is inhumane and illegal.

Animal rights activists stressed that this behavior of bloggers and the management of the Nemo hotel complex is cruel treatment of animals and propaganda of exploitation.

"This story once again shows that animals for dolphinariums are just a tool for making money. Dolphinariums must be banned," UAnimals said.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that animal rights activists call for a ban on the activity of dolphinariums, in which red-listed animals are kept in poor conditions and suffer from social isolation.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, on November 8, 2021, the Law "On the Implementation of the Provisions of Certain International Agreements and EU Directives in the Field of Animal and Plant Protection" (draft law No. 235), which prohibits cruelty to animals, came into effect in Ukraine on November 8, 2021.
