Environmental inspectors appealed to the prosecutor's office and to the balance holders of the territory

In Kyiv, environmental inspectors found pollution of the Orekhovatsky ponds, which are located in the park. Maxim Rylsky and are part of the national natural park "Goloseevsky".

The content of some pollution indicators exceeded the maximum permissible concentrations by more than 6 times, the State Environmental Inspectorate of the Capital District reports on Facebook.

It is noted that water samples were taken in the first Orekhovatsky pond at the place of wastewater discharge from the storm gutter and opposite the place of wastewater discharge. Laboratory analysis of water revealed the following excesses of MPC:

  • ammonium nitrogen – 1.395 times and 1.71 times;
  • chemical oxygen demand (COD) – 6.26 times and 4.93 times;
  • iron – 3.16 times at the storm gutter;
  • biochemical oxygen demand (BSK-5) – 1.83 times opposite the place of wastewater discharge.

The report emphasized that the environmental inspectors appealed to the prosecutor's office and the balance holders of the territory to respond to the identified violations.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that the team conducted a unique study of water quality in 8 reservoirs and 10 pump rooms in Kyiv. Pollution was found in 5 rivers and lakes, as well as in 1 pump room in the Bortnichi microdistrict.

Also, public figure Maxim Bakhmatov and Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Alexander Krasnolutsky held a series of meetings to save the Goloseevsky National Natural Park in Kyiv.
