Eco-inspectors calculated 2.2 million hryvnias in damages from the shelling of the recreation center "Voloshska Kosa" in the Mykolaiv region.

The fire covered 1,200 square meters of territory, the State Environmental Inspection of the South-West District reports on Facebook.

The shelling took place on June 28, 2022.

The report emphasized that 950.4 tons of carbon dioxide entered the atmosphere as a result of the shelling.

"Information about the damage has been entered into the general register of damages caused to the environment as a result of the invasion of the Russian Federation," the press service said.

It is noted that the calculations were carried out on the basis of the "Methodology for calculating unorganized emissions of polluting substances or a mixture of such substances into the atmospheric air as a result of emergency situations and/or during the martial law and determining the extent of the damage", approved by the order of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine from 04/13/2022 No. 175.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that eco-inspectors calculated 2.4 million hryvnias in damages from the fire of dry grass, which occurred due to the impact of ammunition and their fragments, in the Kutsurub territorial community of the Mykolaiv region.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, carbon emissions in Ukraine increased by 23% in 2022 compared to 2021, and about 33 million tons of CO2 entered the atmosphere due to the military aggression of the Russian Federation. The biggest sources of emissions were fires and hostilities.
