The demand for electric cars increased by 40% in a month in Ukraine

Since the beginning of 2023, 708 new electric cars have been purchased in Ukraine

In February 2023, Ukrainians bought 413 new cars with battery power sources, which is 40% more than in January.

VOLKSWAGEN cars made up the largest share of new electric cars in the Ukrainian fleet, Ukravtoprom reports in Telegram.

It is noted that the market for new electric cars has tripled compared to last February.

The authors said that since the beginning of the year, 708 new electric cars were sold in Ukraine, which is 164% more than in the same period last year.

According to Ukravtoprom, the TOP-5 most popular electric cars include:

  • VOLKSWAGEN ID.4 – 134 cars sold;
  • DONG FENG (HONDA) M-NV – 86 cars;
  • VOLKSWAGEN ID.6 – 33 cars;
  • HONDA E – 27 cars;
  • MERCEDES-BENZ EQC – 16 cars.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Ukraine, the Government adopted the order "On the creation of a network of high-speed car electric charging stations by the state enterprise "National Atomic Energy Generating Company "Energoatom", which was developed by the Ministry of Energy.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, buyers of electric car models in Ukraine may be exempted from paying the fee to the Pension Fund. The relevant draft law No. 7418, developed by the Cabinet of Ministers, was registered in the Verkhovna Rada.to appeal and convince the company to step up its efforts to protect the climate.
