Eco-inspectors calculated more than 1.54 trillion hryvnias of damage to the natural environment of Ukraine caused by the Russian army since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
This is reported by the press service of State Environmental Inspection.
The report noted that the greatest damage was caused to:
- atmospheric air;
- lands;
- water resources;
- forests
"Currently, the territorial and interregional territorial bodies of the State Environmental Inspection of Ukraine continue to record crimes against nature and, in accordance with specially developed methods, document cases of violations of environmental legislation on the territory of our state for the purpose of further reparations," the press service emphasized.
Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that the eco-inspectors calculated 448.9 billion hryvnias in losses, that were inflicted on Ukrainian soil due to Russian military aggression. 8,099,793,440 square meters of land were littered with war waste, and 291,826,950 square meters were contaminated with harmful substances released as a result of the detonation of ammunition.
