The project will make it possible to produce 210 m3 of "green" hydrogen per hour

Ukrhydroenergo presented a pilot project for the production of green hydrogen on the basis of the hydroelectric power plant DniproHES, the nominal capacity of which will be 1 MW.

This happened at the forum on hydrogen policy, technologies and the use of H2 in the energy sector, which was held as part of the EU4Energy program, reports Ukrhydroenergo.

The message noted that the forum was held under the auspices of the International Energy Agency.

The head of the company's retail market department, Yaroslav Pak, said that Ukrhydroenergo is cooperating with European partners on the construction of an electrolyzer on the basis of DniproHES, which will allow the production of 210 m3 of green hydrogen per hour.

"We expect that the positive results of the implementation of this project will promote new partnerships with international companies for further cooperation and donation, which will make it possible to implement a larger project," Pak emphasized.

The participants of the event also discussed the role of data in the development of a hydrogen strategy, as well as the possibility of financing the development of hydrogen and various technologies for its production.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, CEO of Ukrhydroenergo, Ihor Syrota stated that the company plans in the first half of 2023 start the production of green hydrogen at DniproHES.
