In the occupied Kherson region, due to the destruction of ships in ports by Russian troops, about 10 tons of fuel and lubricants got into water bodies.
This information was provided to the State Environmental Inspectorate by the Regional Military Administration in the Kherson region, reports State Environmental Inspectorate on Telegram.
There were reports in the media that Russian troops were blowing up ships and boats in the ports, which is causing pollution of the territory and water area of the ports with fuel and lubricants.
In addition, the current carries pollutants to the Dnieper delta, which then fall into the protected area – the Nizhnedneprovsky National Natural Park.
“Now the specialists of the State Environmental Inspectorate are calculating the damage caused to the environment by the invaders. We will report additionally on the results of the work done, ”the message noted.
Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in the Sea of Azov near the city of Berdyansk, Zaporizhia region, specialists from the Operational Headquarters for fixing environmental crimes discovered an oil spill on an area of 1434 sq. km - together a thick and thin layer. The spill occurred on the territory temporarily controlled by the Russian army, however the occupiers do not take any measures to liquidate consequences.
