The breach lasted from January 2018 to December 2019

In the Cherkasy region, the utility company of the city of Chyhyryn reimbursed more than 403 thousand hryvnia for losses for groundwater abstraction without a special permit.

Violations were discovered in March 2020, and the court made a decision to recover damages from Chigirin KP in January 2022, the State Environmental Inspectorate of the Central District reports on Facebook.

The report noted that during a scheduled inspection, environmental inspectors found that the company violated the requirements of environmental legislation, namely articles 16, 19, 21 of the Code of Ukraine on Subsoil, from 01/01/2018 to 12/31/2019.

They sent the materials of the check to the Cherkasy district prosecutor's office for a lawsuit.

On January 20, 2022, the Economic Court of the Cherkasy region decided to fully satisfy the claim and recover the entire amount from the utility company. In September 2022, the State Treasury Service announced the payment of UAH 403,440.60 to the State Budget of Ukraine.

"This fact testifies not only to the well-coordinated interaction of executive authorities and the responsibility of business entities for violation of environmental legislation, but also to the filling of much-needed funds of the State budget in an extremely difficult time for our country," the report said.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in the Cherkasy region in the city of Kaniv, a branch of LLC Cheese Club applied damage to the environment in the amount of UAH 811,724. The enterprise was extracting underground water from wells without a special permit for the use of subsoil.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, in the Kyiv region, the sugar factory LLC Shamrayevsky sugar voluntarily reimbursed 64 thousand hryvnia damage for clogging and pollution of land.
