Ukraine is working on improving its legislation and synchronizing it with EU norms

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, Ruslan Strilets, said that the European Commission and the US State Department already support post-war environmental restoration projects in Ukraine.

And such support is only growing, reports Euronews.

"We will make every effort to use this support not only for Ukraine, but also for the whole world, as well as for a better future of civilization," said Strilets.

He also noted the help of Poland, Lithuania and the Czech Republic in introducing new legislation to better protect the environment, which is likely to help Ukraine join the European Union (EU).

"We are working on making our legislation better and synchronizing it with EU legislation so that in the future we can be a full member of the EU," he said.

The article emphasized that on February 28, 2022, four days after the full-scale invasion of Russia, Ukraine applied for EU membership. However, there are concerns that the country does not meet the bloc's criteria, particularly in terms of its political institutions and economy. The war became an additional complication.

The shooter noted that he is confident in the victory of Ukraine in this war.

"The whole civilized world is on our side, because the whole world understands that we protect not only Ukrainian borders. We protect everyone's borders," the minister said.

As EcoPolitic reported before, Yevgeny Fedorenko, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, stated that the estimated amount of damage caused by Russian troops to the nature of Ukraine is already has reached $35 billion and is growing every day.
