The materials were handed over to law enforcement agencies

In the Kirovohrad region, eco-inspectors together with police officers discovered and detained black loggers who caused damage in the total amount of more than 257 thousand hryvnias.

Violations were discovered during measures to protect flora and fauna, as well as to prevent poaching, the State Inspectorate of the Dnipro District reports on Facebook.

For example, near the city of Novoukrayinka, intruders destroyed 14 green-growing, i.e. living, trees in the field protection strip. This caused damage to the environment in the amount of 65,104 hryvnias. They seized a chainsaw, harvested forest products, and detained a GAZelle car.

In addition, violations were found in the field protection strip between the villages of Velyka Skelova and Talova Balka in Oleksandriysky district, where black loggers destroyed trees worth 191,945 hryvnias.

The message noted that the State Inspectorate sent the materials to law enforcement agencies.

"The indicated actions contain signs of the commission of a crime, the responsibility for which is provided for in Art. 246 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine", the message emphasized.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in the Lviv region, eco-inspectors caught violators red-handed 621 trees were illegally cut down of various species, namely pine, aspen and alder. Damage to the environment reached more than 900 thousand hryvnias.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in the Zhytomyr region, in the forest of the Dvoryshchensk village council, eco-inspectors discovered the illegal felling of 286 trees of various species, which caused damage to the environment for more than 1.8 million UAH.
