It is not known whether the people involved in the violation will be punished

In Transcarpathia, the management of the Carpathian Biosphere Reserve revoked the approval of illegal sanitary felling granted to the Brusturyansk Forest Farm.

Under the pretext of collecting firewood for the population, they planned to cut down healthy beech trees, the age of which reaches more than 100 years, reports the "Ukrainian Nature Conservarion Group – UNCG" on Facebook.

The management of the reserve inspected the sites and fully confirmed the violation. They discovered that the commercial beeches were marked as firewood.

"Admitting your mistakes and quickly solving the problem is cool and very unusual for Ukraine. The trees are saved, the reputation is saved, everyone (except the foresters) is satisfied. Most of the forest officials should learn from the reserve," said the environmentalists.

However, it was noted in the material that although the trees were saved, the felling documents were still forged. It is also unknown whether forest pathologists, forest rangers and other people who participated in the violation will be punished.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in the Lviv region, the SSU exposed several officials from the forest farm who earned from embezzlement and sold high grade wood in wartime conditions.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in Ivano-Frankivsk region scandal arose due to the replacement of the head of Karpatskyi National Nature Park.
