Holland Hydrogen is an important milestone for both the Netherlands and Shell in the hydrogen economy

Oil and gas company Shell plans to build Holland Hyrdoge, Europe's largest green hydrogen plant in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, which will produce 60,000 kilograms of hydrogen per day.

The energy needed to operate the plant will come from the Hollandse Kust offshore wind farm, which is also partly owned by Shell, reports Euratians.

This green hydrogen will replace gray hydrogen at Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Rotterdam.

"Holland Hydrogen demonstrates how new energy solutions can work together to meet society's need for cleaner energy. It is also another example of Shell's own efforts and commitment to become a zero-emissions business by 2050," said Anna Mascolo, Executive Shell's vice president for new energy solutions.

She also noted that renewable hydrogen will play a key role in the energy system of the future, and this project is an important step in helping hydrogen realize its potential.

The company also emphasized that the creation of the Holland Hydrogen plant is an important milestone for both the Netherlands and Shell in the hydrogen economy.

We will remind Spanish startup received funding for cheap transportation of hydrogen.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, the oil giant Shell went to a great deal for the green transition production
