The head of the Ministry of Environment, Ruslan Strilets, said that Ukraine plans to discuss separate rules for participation in the carbon border adjustment mechanism (CBAM).
There is an ongoing discussion with the European Commissioner for the Environment Virginius Sinkevicius regarding CBAM and all other mechanisms, reports Interfax-Ukraine.
Strilets noted that Ukraine is in constant dialogue with the European Commission regarding the impact of the war on the environment and the Ukrainian side's ability to protect the environment.
"If I manage to get to Prague for the meeting of all environmental ministers next Wednesday, July 13, I am sure that one of the cases we will discuss is separate rules for Ukraine's participation in CBAM in view of the war," he said.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal set the task of simplifying the possibilities of doing business in Ukraine.
The shooter also noted that the SEI checks of businesses are currently suspended.
"We give the right to carry out such inspections only in individual cases. Today, comfortable conditions have been created, let them work," he said.
