This is a biological method of dust suppression

In Kryvyi Rih, the Southern Mining and Processing Plant (SMPP) has turned almost 37 hectares of sandy desert tailings into flowering fields.

This is the result of biological reclamation of sludge surfaces of the plant, reports Metinvest Media .

In 2020, SMPP covered two hectares of the Voykove tailings pond with sewage sludge. Gradually, perennial grasses grew in these areas, which strengthened the soil with the root system. Plants also prevented the spread of dust during gusts of wind.

In 2021, the tailings "Voykove" and "Obyednane" were covered with fertile silt. Then more than 100 thousand cubic meters of organic matter fertilized 35 hectares. Within a month, self-propagation of plants was observed over the entire area of cultivated areas.

The effect of the biological method of dust suppression is observed in 2022. Today, almost 37 hectares of inanimate sandy plains of the tailings of the Southern MPP have turned into flowering fields.

As reported EcoPolitics formerly, Ingulets Mining and Processing Plant installed a hydrocyclone, which cleans the air of solid particles formed as a result of overloading the ore on the conveyor belts.

We will remind also that InMPP replaced at the crushing plant, a smoke extractor capable of purifying the air is more powerful.
