More than 1 ton of biodiesel can be obtained from 1 hectare of rapeseed, the farmer said

Today, when prices for oilseeds have dropped significantly, it becomes economically feasible to process rapeseed for biodiesel.

This idea was voiced by Ukrainian farmer Viktor Sheremeta on his Facebook page.

“While Russia is bombing our oil depots and there are limited channels for supplying fuel to Ukraine, the Energy Ministry should think about using rapeseed as a biofuel. Ukraine has available technologies and capabilities for this,” Sheremeta said.

According to the farmer, more than 1 ton of biodiesel can be obtained from 1 hectare of rapeseed, which makes it possible to avoid the consumption of more than 1 thousand tons of Russian oil.

As reported EcoPolitics earlier, at the Central mining and processing plant of the Metinvest group, located in Kryvyi Rih, the implementation of the project continues replacement of natural gas with biofuels.
