Oskol: During the war, Ukraine lost another large reservoir. What are the consequences?

In addition to the tragedy of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, during the fighting, Ukraine lost another large reservoir. In the east of the country in the Kharkov region, a dam on the Oskol River was damaged. This hydraulic structure made it possible to control the discharge of water into the Seversky Donets River, and also formed the Oskol reservoir. As a result of the partial destruction of the dam, almost 9 thousand hectares of the bottom were exposed, and the water level dropped by 6 times. But due to the proximity of hostilities, the question of the rationality of its restoration arises. Opinions on this matter are divided. Why? And what are the arguments of the different sides, as well as how the dramatic drop in water level in the Oskol reservoir affects the water supply of three regions – Donetsk, Lugansk and Kharkov.
