Visualization of the history of energy transitions

Over the past 200 years, the method of obtaining energy has changed radically. These changes were driven by innovations such as the steam engine, oil lamps, internal combustion engines, and the widespread use of electricity. The transition from a predominantly agrarian global economy to an industrial one required new sources to ensure more efficient energy consumption. The current energy transition is based on the realization that in order to avoid the catastrophic consequences of climate change, it is necessary to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
