Carbon emissions from the metallurgical industry (Scope 1 and 2) in 2022

CO2 emissions from metallurgy (Scope 1 and 2) in 2022 accounted for 9.42% of global emissions. This is less than 9.94% in 2021, which is due to a reduction in steel production by 65.7 million tons. Emissions are estimated to reach 9.24% in 2023, again due to a drop in steel production and an increase in other global CO2 emissions.
