The risk of being blown up by mines in the forest in the de-occupied territories will remain for at least a year

In Ukraine, in the Ivano-Frankivsk and Chernivtsi regions, it was allowed to freely visit the forests, while access remains limited in seven regions.

Prohibitions on visiting forests are associated with mine danger, military operations and high fire danger, reports the public organization Forest Initiatives and Society.

"The ban applies both to pedestrians and to any type of transport. An exception is the transport used by the Armed Forces, other military formations and permanent forest users, representatives of authorities. And the exception is the use of transit roads," the material explained.

The authors emphasized that Crimea, parts of Donetsk, Luhansk and Kherson regions remain under temporary occupation.

According to the State Emergency Service, the risk of being blown up by mines in the forest in the de-occupied territories will remain for at least a year.

The material said that it is forbidden to visit forests in eight regions due to the threat of fires at high temperatures and lack of precipitation, namely in:

  • Zakarpattia;
  • Ivano-Frankivsk;
  • Lvivskaya;
  • Ternopil;
  • Khmelnytskyi;
  • Rivne;

The authors explained that the ban on visiting forests in adverse weather conditions should be reported to local authorities. After all, human negligence is often the cause of fires in nature.

It is noted that in six regions there is a partial restriction on visiting forests in the border regions, namely:

  • Volynska;
  • Rivne;
  • Zhytomyrska;
  • Zakarpattia;
  • Ivano-Frankivsk;
  • Chernivtsi.

The material said that you can visit forests in four regions, following certain rules:

  • Rivneska – 125 places specially arranged by foresters;
  • Volynsk – it is allowed to pick mushrooms and berries in the Lutsk and Volodymyr districts, except for places with warning signs in mined areas. It is strictly forbidden to drive off the forest roads to the roadside, to disassemble or cross artificially made piles of wood in the forests;
  • Lviv Oblast – you can go to the forest, but it is forbidden to enter it by vehicle. Exceptions are only cases when a transit route or bicycle route runs through the forest massif. Bonfires can only be lit in designated areas. Excursions, hikes, rafting along routes near critical infrastructure, military and strategic facilities are prohibited;
  • Khmelnytskyi – it is forbidden to build fires, to enter forests on all types of vehicles, except for bicycles.

The article emphasized that in Chernivtsi and Ivano-Frankivsk regions you can visit the forests on foot and by vehicle, except for the border area and during the fire-risk period.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, in 2022 in the Transcarpathian region, in order to avoid fires in ecosystems, it was forbidden to enter the forests by cars and other self-propelled vehicles, except for transit routes.
