Ukrhydroenergo and Concern Galnaftogaz signed a memorandum on the development and implementation of projects for the production, transportation and sale of green hydrogen.

This will contribute to the implementation of Ukraine's hydrogen strategy aimed at increasing the stability and independence of the country's energy system, reports Ukrhydroenergo.

The message emphasized that green hydrogen is a key component of eco-strategies in Europe and the world and will play a significant role in a climate-neutral, safe and affordable energy future in Ukraine.

The memorandum will provide an opportunity to speed up Ukraine's integration into projects aimed at participating in the green transition, as well as provide infrastructure and citizens with energy resources.

"Ukrhydroenergo, as the largest hydrogen-generating company in Ukraine, intends to participate in the production of green hydrogen as an alternative fuel, with the aim of integrating Ukraine into European decarbonization processes by reducing carbon emissions and entering the EU markets," he said during signed by the general director of "Ukrhydroenergo" Ihor Syrota.

"Concern Galnaftogaz as a progressive company will develop other alternative types of clean fuel, which in the near future may become a substitute for traditional fuel. That is why we are cooperating with Ukrhydroenergo in the direction of development of production and further use of green hydrogen," said Vasyl Danylyak, the head of Galnaftogaz Concern.
