Land resources suffered the greatest damage

Eco-inspectors calculated more than 1.5 billion hryvnias of damage to the environment of Ukraine caused by violators of environmental legislation for 10 months of 2022.

During this time, about 8,800 violators paid over 2.9 million hryvnias to the state budget, reports State Inspection on Telegram.

The report emphasized that eco-inspectors carried out more than 6,000 control measures and drew up about 9,400 administrative protocols.

"The greatest damage was caused to land resources – almost 680 million hryvnias," the press service of the State Inspection Service noted.

The authors said that eco-inspectors most often recorded:

  • clogging of territories with waste;
  • placement of unauthorized landfills within settlements;
  • soil pollution.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wroe, that in Ukraine, violators of environmental protection legislation for 9 months of 2022 were reimbursed to the state budget more than 56 million hryvnias of eco-damages. The overall dynamics of payments, both voluntary and judicial, increased by 2.5 times compared to the same period of 2021.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the court forced the state enterprise "Dubnovodokanal", located in the Rivne region, to compensate 1.6 million hryvnias for damages for the discharge of wastewater to the Ikva River. Eco-inspectors discovered violations in February 2020.
