Enterprises of the community must regulate emissions of pollutants

In Kremenchuk, in the Poltava Region, until the morning of Friday, July 7, meteorological conditions will be maintained that will contribute to the accumulation and retention of harmful impurities in the surface layer of atmospheric air.

Residents of the city are urged not to use their own vehicles with internal combustion engines, if possible, the Kremenchuk City Council reports.

In the message, it was emphasized that the enterprises of the community had warned about this nature of the weather. They must regulate emissions of pollutants.

As you know, on average, every car with an internal combustion engine burns 2 tons of fuel and about 26-30 tons of air for a mileage of 15,000 km per year. At the same time, the car emits into the atmosphere 700 kg of carbon monoxide, 40 kg of nitrogen dioxide, 230 kg of unburned hydrocarbons and solid particles (PM).

It is worth noting that there are currently three atmospheric air monitoring stations installed in Kremenchuk, of which only one is operational. As of Thursday, July 6, the air is characterized as "good" by the content of fine dust.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Zaporizhzhia, an entrepreneur has resumed the activity of burning circuit boards, plastic and rubber in an artisanal furnace, from which thick black smoke rises into the air.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Department of Ecology suspected of manipulation. The department announced a tender for the purchase of 8 indicative automated air quality monitoring stations for the amount of more than 11 million hryvnias, which is registered under one equipment supplier.
