In the air of Kyiv during the week with 18 to 23 in September, the average daily maximum allowable concentration of nitrogen dioxide was exceeded by three times.
Compared to the previous week, the content of pollutants in the air has not changed significantly, says the weekly report on air pollution from the Borys Sreznevsky Central Geophysical Observatory.
According to the observatory, the exceedance of the maximum permissible concentration (MPC) for the average daily content of nitrogen dioxide was:
- 3.0 times – in the area of Beresteysky prospect (September 18);
- 2.0-2.8 times – on the streets of Akademik Strazheska, Oleksandr Dovzhenko, Hetman Pavlo Polubotko, Inzhener Borodin, on Lesya Ukrainka Boulevard, Bessarabska Square, street Kaunaska, Obolonsky prospect, Demiivska square;
- in 1.1 – 1.3 times – in the area of Prospect Nauka .
Exceeding the MPC by average daily content of sulfur dioxide:
- in 1.5-1.8 times – on Demiivska and Bessarabska squares, Obolonsky and Beresteysky avenues, Oleksandr Dovzhenka, Inzhener Borodin streets;
- in 1.1-1.4 times – at all other posts ;
- no excesses were observed at 37 Nauky Ave. (in the area of the meteorological station).
Exceeding the MPC by average daily formaldehyde content:
- 1.8-2.5 times – on Demiivska and Bessarabska squares, in the area of Beresteyskyi and Obolonskyi avenues, Oleksandr Dovzhenka, Akademik Strazheska streets;
- in 1.0-1.7 times – on Lesya Ukrainka Boulevard, str. Hetman Pavlo Polubotka, str. Kaunaska, Nauka avenue .
Specialists of the observatory selected and analyzed 1364 atmospheric air samples from 15 stationary posts.
As EcoPolitic reported earlier, in Kyiv on the morning of Tuesday, September 26, in the Voskresenka microdistrict, on the Left Bank in the Dnipro district, the concentration of suspended particles (dust) in the air PM2.5 reached 99, and PM10 exceeded 100.
