3 "box" houses have already been built in Gravity Park

In Kyiv, the community of Sviatoshynsky district continued the fight against the construction of the Gravity Park residential complex on 12-13 high-rise buildings with apartments, because large-scale construction is actually taking place on the territory of the Holosiivskyi National Nature Park.

Activists are convinced that the construction at 139 Peremogy Avenue is spontaneous, but law enforcement officers, the management of the national park and other environmental agencies do not respond to their appeals, reports KyivVlada.

The material explained that the activists consider the construction illegal, because the company "Kreator-Bud" planned the reconstruction of the "Prolisok" hotel-residential complex located on this site into a hotel-tourist complex. However, it turned into the construction of residential complex, and two "boxes" have already been erected on the site of the complex itself.

Residents of the community said that part of the forest has already been destroyed due to the construction. The Kreator-Bud company probably pumped out groundwater to lay the foundation, which caused the trees to dry up.

It is noted that the site was inspected by eco-inspectors. According to the activist Maryna Antoshchuk, they confirmed the drying of the trees, but refused to provide an assessment, referring to the lack of specialized specialists.

Therefore, the community turned to the administration of the national park with a request to find out whether the developer has a permit for drainage works. Activists also suggest turning to the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine so that its experts confirm or refute the community's assumptions. Activists are convinced that in the case of illegal water pumping, the management of the national park should contact the law enforcement officers with statements about an environmental crime.

The material said that the activists met with the Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Ruslan Strilts in September. People demanded an explanation as to why an environmental impact assessment procedure was not carried out before construction and told Strelts about a number of construction violations. He noted that the legislation in many cases allows developers not to carry out the OVD procedure.

It is noted that the police opened criminal proceedings regarding the development in November 2021. The investigators never once contacted the activists and did not inform about the progress of the case.

Antoshchuk emphasized that it is currently unknown whether the territory on which the developers plan to arrange a parking lot is included in the boundaries of the "Holosiivskyi" NPP.

"Currently, 3 or 4 "box" houses have already been built [in Gravity Park]. The "Prolisok" sanatorium, which was supposed to be reconstructed, was actually destroyed, and there are already two houses in its place. How is reconstruction possible on 18 hectares, if there was only one building there? It is also interesting that apartments are planned there, and, as you know, apartments are intended for temporary residence. That is, by destroying the green zone, some people get the opportunity to earn money by renting out housing. The builders promised a 20% discount for warriors, but can that be an excuse?” she said.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Kyiv, the residents of Mykilska Slobidka have been protecting the banks of the Dnieper from construction for about 20 years in courts and on construction sites. They want to achieve the creation of a park on this territory, instead of concrete embankments and high-rise buildings.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, in Kyiv the unique Blue Lake has dried up which is in the Podilsky district near the Vynogradar housing estate, which officials promised to save. The lake disappeared, in particular, due to the construction of a high-rise building, which was never completed.
