Waste management centers are open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m

In Khmelnytskyi, they began to collect used electronic cigarettes (vapes, or "disposables") to use their batteries to make initiations for ammunition dropped by FPV drones.

Used vapes can be handed over to Waste Management Centers, ecobuses, and sent by mail from other cities, reports "Smart Environment. Khmelnytskyi" on Facebook.

"Used electronic cigarettes may seem like garbage. But in fact, their elements can be very useful and bring our joint victory closer, – the informant explained. – We hope for your support and help."

It is noted that waste can be brought to the Waste Management Centers, which are open every day from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the following addresses:

  • 7 Myru Avenue;
  • intersection of Chornovola and Pilotska streets.

"We do not encourage smoking electronic cigarettes," the activists emphasized. "But if you have them, you should use them for a good cause."

It is worth noting that ecoactivists should soon publish the schedule of ecobus stops for November.

Earlier, Ecopolitic wrote, that in February 2023, students of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute collected used disposable electronic cigarettes to support the laboratory for the production of mine detectors.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, a WHO report found that the tobacco industry is responsible for the loss of 600 million trees, 200,000 hectares of land, 22 billion tons of water and produces over 84 million tons of CO2, and threatens food security. Cigarette filters and vapes are also dangerous.
