In April 2021, "Brovaryteplovodoenergia" compensated 684 thousand hryvnias for land pollution

Communal enterprise "Brovaryteplovodoenergia" voluntarily paid more than 3.4 million hryvnias for pollution of the environment with insufficiently purified return water.

The enterprise did not comply with the standards for the maximum allowable discharge of pollutants with return waters into the Dnipro basin, namely the Krasylivka and Trubizh rivers, the State Environmental Inspection of the Capital District reports on Facebook.

It is noted that in August 2021, eco-inspectors found an excess of the GDS standard according to the following indicators:

  • ammonium;
  • nitrite ions;
  • suspended substances;
  • BSK5;
  • chloride ions.

The message emphasized that the company compensated the losses thanks to the joint efforts of eco-inspectors and prosecutors.

The press service added that in April 2021, during the inspection, eco-inspectors discovered that the KP "Brovaryteplovodoenergia" polluted an agricultural land with an area of 38,000 m2 with insufficiently purified return water.

It is noted that the amount of damage from such pollution reached 684 thousand hryvnias. The company paid the funds to the state budget in 2021.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, in Brovary, the prosecutor's office reported suspicion to an official of one of the communal enterprises, who violated the rules of environmental safety, which caused the pollution of large areas. In 2021, effluents from sewage treatment plants polluted the Krasylivka River for a long time, which caused ecological damage of more than 4 million hryvnias.
