Key projects relate to safety – civil protection, transport of dangerous goods, rail transport

On Wednesday, December 3, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management will hold a regular meeting to consider legislative initiatives.

The agenda was published on the website of the parliamentary eco-committee.

The main item for consideration is draft law No. 14177 "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts to Improve Legislation on Civil Protection Service, Social Protection of Persons Involved in Emergency Rescue and Other Urgent Work, as well as Victims of Dangerous Situations."

The agenda also includes draft laws on which the committee members are to submit their proposals:

  • No. 1193-1 "On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine to Align Them with European Union Legislation in the Field of Transport of Dangerous Goods";
  • No. 14174 "On the Safety and Interoperability of Railway Transport in Ukraine";
  • No. 14174-1 "On Enhancing the Safety of Operation and Interoperability of Railway Transport in Ukraine."

The parliamentarians' agenda also includes consideration of the committee's proposals regarding the Verkhovna Rada's legislative agenda for the coming year.

As reported by EcoPolitics, at its previous meeting, the eco-committee considered draft laws on the prevention of emergencies and the right of communities to use local natural resources. The latter document was sent by deputies for further revision.
