This is part of the company's strategy to protect against risks associated with power outages

IDS Ukraine, which produces mineral waters under the Morshynska and Myrhorodska brands, has installed the first solar power plant (SPP) at its plant in Myrhorod, Poltava region.

This became known from the company's press release.

The installed SPP has a capacity of 1.4 MW. IDS Ukraine says that it started generating electricity from the first day of launch and can produce up to 600 kWh even in cloudy weather.

The company expects that its own solar power plant will allow it to save from €150 thousand to €200 thousand on electricity annually, depending on weather conditions and the market.

Investments in the construction of the solar power plant amounted to more than €500 thousand, excluding VAT.

Forbes Ukraine reminded that the annual energy consumption of the entire IDS Ukraine group is 28 MW. Of this, 5 MW is to cover the needs of the Myrhorod plant, and the rest is to cover the needs of the Morshyn Oscar mineral water plant. It is in Morshyn that the company will implement the second phase of the renewable energy project: in 2026, it plans to launch a 1.6 MW solar power plant there.

As a reminder, Ukrainian private companies are actively investing in their own energy independence. For example, this summer, Nova Poshta is preparing to launch its own energy storage facility, which will store excess electricity generated by the company's solar power plants.

We also told you that the ATB chain saves UAH 1.5 million per store thanks to the SPPs installed earlier.
