Activists began clearing the ravine of debris in 2023

On Sunday, September 24, Kharkiv will host the 27th eco-campaign to clean up the Mokry Zhikhor ravine, located in the KhTZ area.

The ravine, where garbage has been accumulating for decades, they are trying to turn it into an analogue of the popular Sarzhny ravine, reports an eco-activist Artem Prykhodko on Facebook.

"Join the restoration of our nature to restore our city," he urged.

Prykhodko noted that the volunteers will meet at 12:00 near the service station on Oleksandrivskyi Avenue, 114b. Participants of the promotion should bring with them:

  • thick rubber gloves;
  • waterproof shoes with thick soles (rubber boots, boots, sneakers);
  • a set of changing clothes;
  • drinking water

How to get there:

  • trolleybus 3, 7, 304 (University-Odeska St. – Novi Budynky – 25 Hospital or Pozharsky St.);
  • "O.S. Maselskyi" metro station (15 minutes' walk from the metro station to Oleksandrivskyi Avenue)

Questions and suggestions regarding the campaign can be addressed to its organizer Ruslan Aksyonov (063-122-47-55).

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in 2023, activists of the New Kharkiv movement began to clear the Mokriy Zhikhor ravine of garbage that had been accumulating there for decades. With the efforts of about 8 activists, they have already collected about 200 bags of various waste.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, in Kharkiv during the eco-walk on September 10, volunteers removed about 2.5 tons of garbage, that is, about 100 bags from the Wet Zhikhor ravine.
