During the implementation of the project, 311 tons of batteries were sent for recycling

In 2023, the ATB supermarket chain collected and sent 211.6 tons of used batteries for recycling, which is 51 tons more than planned.

The Polish company BatEKO has already utilized about 168 tons of these batteries, GALKA.IF.UA reports.

It is noted that ATB has been implementing a project to recycle used batteries for several years – "Recycle Today for a Clean Tomorrow". During this time, 311 tons of batteries, or about 15 million units, have been sent for recycling to specialized plants in Romania and Poland. People bring these batteries to special containers for collection.

The report said that ATB is implementing the project together with Duracell, SavService, and PromoService.

Сorrect processing or disposal of spent power cells allows not only to avoid environmental pollution, but also to save resources. After all, these materials can be reused.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, in Ukraine in 2023 the company Promo Service and “Give up the batteries!” sent for safe disposal more than 200 tons of batteries, i.e. about 7% of the total import about 2800 tons.
