"The cause of the fire is being determined," the report said.

Landfill fires cause significant damage to the environment and human health. After all, during the burning of garbage, a number of dangerous substances and carcinogenic compounds are released into the air, including benzopyrene, dioxins, oxides of nitrogen and sulfur, etc.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Lutsk the city authorities have started preparations for the construction of a waste processing plant in the area of the landfill located in the village of Bryshche. Currently, the concept of the future enterprise is being developed.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, in Poltava Oblast, a large-scale fire at the Lubensk municipal landfill had to be extinguished with feces. Due to the lack of water supply nearby, the rescuers used liquid from the sewage system of nearby treatment plants.
