Violators are suspected of destroying 20 m3 of wood in another part of the forest

In the Kyiv region, near the village of Velyki Hulyaki, forest guards detained a group of "black loggers" from Fastov while illegally felling trees.

They cut down more than 6 cubic meters of wood, which caused damage in the amount of almost 90 thousand hryvnias, the state enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" reports on Facebook.

"Thanks to the operative actions of the forest guard and installed camera traps, which recorded the fact of the crime, together with police officers, the violators were caught red-handed," the press service emphasized.

It is noted that violations were discovered on the territory of the "Bilotserkiv Forestry" branch. This is already the second case of illegal felling on the territory of the forest farm since July.

The report emphasized that violators could destroy another part of the forest. Thus, more than 20 cubic meters of acacia were illegally cut down in the adjacent area. The trees were sawed into 1 meter long firewood for further removal.

"Currently, the company's security department and law enforcement officers are dealing with the case. The preliminary amount of all damages caused to the State Enterprise "Lisa Ukrainy" is estimated at almost 500 thousand hryvnias," the press service said.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, in the Kyiv region, the police uncovered a large-scale scheme of illegal felling and sale of wood, the losses of which reached 4 million hryvnias. A group of 9 criminals, which included officials, worked in two districts of the region.
