Over a week, the State Ecological Inspectorate has accrued more than UAH 54 million in environmental damage

Territorial bodies of the State Environmental Inspectorate (SEI) drew up 311 reports on administrative violations and calculated damages in the amount of UAH 54 million 535 thousand for violating environmental legislation between June 21 and 27.

This was reported by the SEI on Facebook.

Environmental inspectors shared a list of the most high-profile environmental violations:

1. In a residential neighborhood of Kryvyi Rih, unidentified persons caused littering and pollution of the land plot. Damages from their illegal actions amounted to 12 million 862 thousand 649 hryvnias. The inspectors sent the case materials to the police.

2. On the territory of the Krasiv Starostyn District of the Novopil OTG of the Kryvorizka District, SEI specialists discovered an unauthorized landfill, where solid household waste, used car tires, construction waste, plant waste, etc. are stored. They calculated losses in the amount of 3 million 93 thousand 13 hryvnias. The inspectors sent the case materials to the police.

3. In the city of Kryvyi Rih, environmentalists recorded contamination of two plots of land with water of unknown origin. One of them is located on the territory near the Saksagan River, the other is near a residential building. Damages amounted to 11 million 765 thousand 352 UAH and 6 million 879 thousand 341 UAH, respectively. Inspectors prepare materials for transfer to law enforcement agencies.

4. Between the villages of Rozkydaylivka and Rudnya of Kharitonivska TG of Zhytomyr district unidentified persons illegally felled 582 trees of various species on a plot of communal property for the amount of 5 million 978 thousand 177 hryvnias. The environmental protection officers sent the materials on this offense to the Investigative Department of the GUNP in the Zhytomyr region.

5. On the territory of Strilbytskyi Forestry of Starosambirsk DLGP "Galsillis", unidentified persons illegally cut down 56 beech, fir and pine trees for the amount of 1 million 143 thousand 460 hryvnias. The eco-inspectors sent the materials to the Sambir RVP GUNP in the Lviv Region and the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
6. Environmental protection officers calculated the damages and submitted a claim to KP "Stryyvodokanal" in the amount of 12 million 255 thousand 656 hryvnias for the above-standard discharge of pollutants with return waters into the Stryi River.
