In the Mukachevo district, employees of the State Environmental Inspection discovered illegal mining of minerals of state importance.

It is noted that sandstone, suitable for the production of construction rubble, was mined on the territory of the quarry on an industrial scale. At the same time, according to the cadastral numbers, the land plots are owned by the Zakarpattia Regional Military Administration, and the right of permanent use belongs to the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine".

"As a result of the survey, the eco-inspectors found that the company illegally mined sandstone on an area of ​​4,563 square meters, with a volume of 13,174 cubic meters. The amount of damage caused to the surrounding natural environment is more than 62 million hryvnias," the report said.

As the head of the State Environmental Inspection, Mykhailo Bank, reported, materials based on the mentioned fact will be sent to law enforcement agencies for inclusion in the EDPR, the appropriate investigation will be conducted, and a claim will be filed for compensation of losses to the business entity that carried out illegal extraction of products.

In addition, the State Inspectorate will direct an appeal to the regional military administration for the purpose of considering the mentioned violation and its elimination.

As EcoPolitic reported earlier, in the Kyiv region, the prosecutor's office submitted an indictment to the court against a resident of Buchansky district for illegal sand mining.
