The prosecutor's office is investigating the involvement of water management officials in the crime

In Zakarpattia, businesswomen from Tyachiv district was informed about the suspicion of illegal mining sand-gravel mixture, which caused damages in the amount of more than 4 million hryvnias.

Woman, having only an approved project for clearing the Tisza river bed, 6,000 m3 of subsoil was mined, the press service reports Zakarpattia Regional Prosecutor's Office.

During the investigation established that the perpetrator involved trucks and workers. The activity was carried out without obtaining special permits and with numerous violations of the law.

She is suspected of violating Part 2 of Art. 240 of the Criminal Code.

"Currently, in the criminal proceedings, a pre-trial investigation is underway, which is being carried out by the investigators of the SU GUNP in the Zakarpattia region under the operational support of the SSU Directorate in the Zakarpattia region," the message says.

The press service noted that possible involvement in illegal activities of officials of structural divisions of water management is also being checked.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Zakarpattia, five entrepreneurs will be tried for the arbitrary extraction of sand and gravel mixture in the amount of 76.1 million hryvnias. They have been in the Tisza, Tereblya and Teresva rivers for several years extracted 80 thousand m3 of minerals, which is equal to fit in 888 freight cars of the train.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, due to the illegal mining of minerals, the Zakarpattian Regional Prosecutor's Office reported the suspicion to the deputy chief one of the inter-district water management offices and two entrepreneurs.
