Violations were detected at intervals of 20 minutes

In Transcarpathia, in Mukachevo district, border guards discovered illegal felling of trees and extraction of sand and gravel from the Tisa River.

This happened during aerial monitoring of the Vylok department using a drone, the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine-Western Border reported on Facebook.

It is noted that the felling of trees was noticed 600 meters from the border. A response team arrived at the scene and found seven loggers, including one minor, and a Kamaz truck loaded with wood.

Reports on administrative offenses were drawn up against all the detainees.

The report said that 20 minutes after the first violation, drone operators spotted another truck on the bank of the Tisza River. The border guards found a Kamaz truck loaded with sand and gravel mixture, the driver of which had no documents for the cargo or for the work.

Police officers were called to the scene.

"The State Border Service effectively protects the Ukrainian border and actively engages the department's manned and unmanned aircraft to monitor the areas of responsibility of the border guard authorities," the message says.

Earlier, Ecopolitic wrote, that in Transcarpathia, eco-inspectors involved border guards to detect environmental violations.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, In Zakarpattia, near Rakhiv, police seized a KAMAZ truck with a trailer containing illegal timber.
