In Transcarpathia, a jeep tour to Lake Gereshaska was planned for October 6-8

In Transcarpathia, eco-inspectors drew up a protocol against the Mercedes-Benz driver who defiantly drove into Lake Gereshaska, and will take him to court.

The lake belongs to the nature reserve, so such crossings are a gross violation, the State Environmental Inspection in Zakarpattia Oblast reports on Facebook.

It is noted that the violations were recorded by activists of the Save Pikuy association and posted photos on social networks. People demanded that the State Inspectorate and law enforcement officers react to such a gross violation.

The press service said that the violator admitted his guilt.

The report emphasized that a jeep tour to Lake Gereshaska was planned for October 6-8 in Transcarpathia. The State Inspectorate will carry out appropriate response measures.

Ukrainians were warned that from July 2023 it is forbidden to visit forests in the region.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that in Transcarpathia, eco-activists from the "Save Pikuy" community launched a charity fundraiser for photo traps to record the entry of motorcyclists into the "Pikuy" botanical reserve.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, criminal proceedings were opened in Transcarpathia for violation of water protection rules against the organizers of the charity enduro race Hard Enduro Wild Trails near the village of Velikiy Bychkiv.
