In the spring of 2023, 1.265 million trees were planted in the Kharkiv region

In Kharkiv region, 45,000 oak seedlings were planted in the demined territories of Zolochiv Forestry.

The area of the new forest reaches 10.8 hectares, the state enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" reports on Facebook.

It is noted that the Zolochiv Forest, which is part of the October Forestry, has suffered from systematic enemy shelling from the first days of the full-scale invasion to this day. 7,223 hectares of forests are contaminated with explosive objects, of which only 125 hectares have been demined so far.

"More than 7,000 hectares of forest remain inaccessible and require inspection," the press service said.

The report emphasized that 170,500 hectares of forests have been mined in the Kharkiv Region, and another 7,200 hectares are under temporary occupation. In total, only 623 hectares of forests were demined in the region.

The press service noted that in the spring of 2023, 1.265 million trees were planted in the Kharkiv region, of which 192,000 were planted in the October branch.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that 180,000 tree saplings were planted in the Volodymyretsk community in the Rivne Region on the site of the "Sonyachne Remeslo" enterprise from legal amber mining. In the region, they plan to restore forests in areas damaged by illegal mining.

As EcoPolitc previously reported, in Bakhmut, soldiers from the 93rd separate mechanized brigade "Kholodny Yar" planted several trees of the so-called victory forest on the outskirts of Bakhmut.
