Two poachers from a group of about 10 hunters, who had been hunting red-listed moose for 3 years, were detained in the village of Ozertsi of the Rivne region.

Serhiy Gavrylyuk, hunter of the Volodymyretsk, told about this, reports Volodymyrets.City.

It was noted in the material that Havrylyuk, from his own sources, became aware of the intentions of the attackers. To stop the violators, he gathered local hunters and police officers, who caught two poachers, and all the others fled.

He said that the group has been engaged in its activities for three years. Poachers have trained dogs and special equipment for hunting moose, listed in the Red Book.

The detainees are currently in the Varas police station. The investigation is ongoing.

"Earlier, they sold hunted game for restaurants in Kyiv, its price ranges from two to three thousand dollars, and now, as far as I know, they use it for their own needs," Gavrilyuk said.

The article noted that about a week ago, hunters managed to kill a moose, so they periodically took out the meat. The approximate weight of one carcass is one hundred kilograms.

Gavrilyuk also added that he personally knows the organizer of the hunt.
