The reserve "Hryshkiv lis" was created for 10 years

Three new nature reserve sites were created in Poltava Oblast and the Dykanskyi Regional Landscape Park was expanded, increasing the protected area by 1,200 hectares.

The Hryshkiv Forest botanical reserve in the Poltava community and the Kovalivskyi landscape reserve and the Nelubivskyi landscape reserve in the Dykanka community have appeared, Philip Pronin, head of the Poltava Regional Environmental Agency, reports on Telegram.

He added that the region has also increased the territories of four reserves of local importance, namely:

  • botanical "Veliky lis" – in the Velikobudyshchan territorial community;
  • ornithological "Budnykovo" – in the Opishnyan territorial community;
  • landscape "Novosanzharskyi" – in the Novosanzharskyi territorial community;
  • hydrological "Artopolot" – in Lohvytskyi territorial community.

"This is a good result for the year. It is especially nice that finally, 10 years after the start of the first initiative to create a natural reserve area "Gryshkiv lis", it was implemented," Pronin said, adding that the issue of other territories had also been considered for years.

He added that the reserve fund of the region is gradually growing. This means increasing attention to the ecological value of territories, preservation and restoration of biodiversity, development of eco-networks.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that Kyiv Rada approved the creation of a landscape reserve of local significance "Brovarsky forest" with an area of about 125 hectares within the city limits.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the court in Lviv Oblast did not support the cancellation of the protected status of the landscape reserve of local importance "Torfovishche Bilogorshcha", which was demanded by four garage cooperatives.
