The addition of ash improves the quality of the coating and has a positive effect on the environment

In Odesa, in the Podilsky district, they began to restore the road using ash, which reduced the cost of the work by 30%.

With the help of new technology, 8 km of the most destroyed section of the P-71 road near the city of Balta will be repaired, the Service for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure in the Odesa Region reports on Facebook.

It is noted that this road passes through Odesa, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad and Cherkasy regions. It is of key importance for logistics. This is a strategic route through which export and import volumes of civil and humanitarian goods pass.

The report said that road repairs are being carried out using an experimental method. Ash is added to cement to stabilize the base of the road surface.

"Given the limited funding and the importance of road restoration for the region's logistics, it was decided to use ash, which not only improves the physical characteristics of the mixtures, but also provides cost savings, in particular, the cost of works will be reduced by up to 30%. In addition, the use of ash has a positive effect on the environment." , – said acting Andriy Donchenko, Head of the Restoration Service in Odesa Oblast.

Earlier, Ecopolitic wrote, that in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, an access road was built using ash, i.e. production waste, to the passage I block of the Burshtyn TPP.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, the Mykolaiv Alumina Plant (MGZ) was the first in the world to learn how to use slurry for the production of cement.
