Yaroslav Zheleznyak named Svetlana Grinchuk, who currently holds the position of deputy in the Ministry of Energy, but has extensive experience in the environment, as a likely candidate for the post of head of the Ministry of Environment.

She is an expert in the field of energy, climate change and environmental protection with experience of working in the Government of Ukraine (Secretariat of the CMU, Ministry of Environment), international financial institutions (World Bank), international technical assistance projects (GIZ, USAID) and participation in negotiations within the framework of the UN. While working at the Ministry of Environment, Svitlana Grynchuk oversaw the ratification and implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement and ensuring Ukraine's international obligations under the Kyoto and Montreal Protocols. In 2022, she worked as the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine for European Integration.
