In one month in public office, the official earned more than in the whole of 2024

The former director of the Polissya Forestry Office, who headed the institution from January to September 2025, declared a significant increase in income and property acquired during his tenure. Attention to his enrichment is drawn by the fact that the official was involved in a high-profile case of illegal timber trade, which was investigated by the State Bureau of Investigation.

This information was published by the publication "Sila Pravdy" (Power of Truth).

In nine months, Chupryna declared 4.8 million hryvnias in salary as head of the Polissya Forest Office of the state-owned enterprise "Forests of Ukraine." In addition, he and his wife received more than 300,000 hryvnias from the sale of electricity at a green tariff.

Renewal of the car fleet

During Chupryna's tenure, his family renewed their car fleet. His wife, Iryna Lashchuk, purchased a 2015 Porsche Macan S worth over UAH 0.9 million. The former head of the forestry office got rid of his cars. These were a 2017 Audi A4 and a 2015 Audi Q5. He gave one away as a gift and sold the other for more than he had paid for it.

Real estate

The family owns nearly 27 hectares of land and three houses—two in Hrushevka and one in Rivne. While managing a branch of a state-owned enterprise, Chupryna purchased 5.5 hectares of land for UAH 126,000 and 400 square meters of land with a 24-square-meter house.

Solar power plants

The ex-official's wife bought a solar power plant at the end of last year. "Syla Pravdy" thinks she got rid of it this year, probably selling it to her husband's sister for 800,000 UAH.

Chupryna himself purchased another solar power plant during his tenure. The 30 kW power plant cost the official 600,000 hryvnia.

Despite their surprisingly high salaries, officials of "Forests of Ukraine" systematically appear in illegal logging schemes.

EcoPolicy reported that the State Bureau of Investigation acknowledged the existence of a centralized system of abuses at the state enterprise. During 2023–2025, total losses to the state from the officials’ shadow schemes amounted to UAH 1 billion.
