The document provides for the addition of 2 articles to the Administrative Code

The Cabinet of Ministers registered in Draft Law No. 9674 to the Verkhovna Rada "On Amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses in Connection with the Adoption of the Law of Ukraine "On Water Drainage and Wastewater Treatment".

The document is intended to establish at the legislative level administrative responsibility for offenses in the field of water drainage, it is reported government representative in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk on Telegram.

He told what the bill proposes to amend Articles 61 and 221 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses regarding the amount of fines for:

  • damage to hydraulic structures and devices, objects and systems of centralized drainage;
  • violation of the rules of their operation and the established modes of operation of artificial water objects, water management systems and centralized drainage systems.

Melnychuk emphasized that the document also provides for additions to the Administrative Code:

  • Article 82-9 "Violation of the rules of primary accounting in the field of drainage". It proposes to introduce administrative liability for violations of the rules of primary accounting of wastewater entering centralized drainage systems, volume of generation, processing, storage and reuse of sewage sludge;
  • Article 154-1 "Violation of legislation in the field of water drainage", which introduces administrative responsibility for violations of legislation in the field of water drainage and determines the amount of fines for such violations.

Earlier, EcoPolitic wrote, that the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure has published a draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers "On approval of the procedure for wastewater treatment in vulnerable areas", which establishes stricter requirements for treatment.

As EcoPolitic previously reported, in January the Verkhovna Rada adopted in the second reading and as a whole the government's draft law No. 6478 "On sewage disposal of urban settlements".
