Odesa-based condominium Zadiak has completed the installation of a solar power plant on the roof of its 12-storey building, which will now provide for the general electricity supply needs of the building.

This was reported by the Energy Efficiency Fund.

The solar power plant has a capacity of 25 kW and will be able to support the operation of elevators, lighting, water and heat pumps, video surveillance systems and intercoms during power outages. Along with the solar panels, the co-owners installed an inverter with a total capacity of 30 kW and batteries that accumulate more than 30 kW.

“We were able to implement a project that exceeded all our expectations. Now we have significant savings, because we use solar energy exclusively during the day and switch to centralized electricity supply in the evening,” says Alla Bondar, chairman of Zadiak HOA.

The main indicators of the "Zadiak" condominium project:

  • the total cost of measures compensated by the Energy Efficiency Fund is UAH 1.3 million, of which UAH 971,000 is a grant paid by the fund;
  • The cost of works for one apartment was about 3 thousand. UAH

Projected savings:

  • annual cost savings for the electricity needs of the entire building – UAH 95,000;
  • annual energy savings for the needs of the entire house – 22 thousand kWh/year.

The other day, EcoPolitics reported that the number of condominiums in Zhytomyr doubled thanks to the modernization of the building reduced heat costs.
